"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.'
When reading the words spoken by Jesus in Matthew 25, easily can we point out when we have donated food to the poor. Some go even further and volunteer to work in city shelters or soup kitchens serving food to the less fortunate. Now most of us have never engaged someone unknown who was thirsted for a drink as we go about our busy lives, though many have been blessed to minister to someone who thirsts for a spiritual refreashment . And certainly when we no longer need an old coat or our children outgrow their clothes, we donate them to a charity. Anyone with children or elderly relatives has most likely at one time cared for someone who was ill or shut-in. For some it is their profession to care for the sick and dying.
But what about prison ministry?
Can you say that you have visited someone in prison?
How often do you include those imprisoned in your prayers?
Here at Immanuel Temple we hold true that Christ died on that old rugged cross so not one should be lost. So come join us! 'Cause why they may live imprisoned, We go to let them know that by accepting Christ as Lord and Savior they Can LIVE Forgivin and Free
on Earth and in Heaven.
